OK, the spare Shelby motor has been disassembled and is currently in the machine shop. First quick go over shows the crank is in great shape and the block looks good, too (you can still see the honing marks in the cylinders). The head appears to be in good shape as well, with no visible cracks between the cylinder bores and the water jackets.

So, as of right now, we are looking at polishing the crank, boring, new rod bearings, new crank bearings, .020 over pistons and rings. Then we'll see what the head needs. I will at least port match the intake side, and the head openings are much smaller than the intake manifold.

Anyone have any other ideas on possible hp gains?

Thanks.
