Default 12 hour of Nelson rumors

There have been rumors floating around the region and surrounding regions about the 12 hour being cancelled....

THIS IS NOT TRUE...indeed it IS a rumor.

The 12 hour is still a go, and the region is looking forward to a great turnout.
As of yesterday there are about 23 teams entered and we're looking for more.
    Get those entries in!!

It is an event you wont want to miss.
And we are also in need of workers of all specialties. Come on out, we would love to have you!

On behalf of the NEOHIO trustee and competition boards, THANK YOU!

Bryan: We'll see you up there! I will be crewing for a team from Texas. As I understand EB and Bill Niemeyer will be in a Colletti car.

    Ditto Dave's comments.

This race was my first experience with a 12hr endurance race. I am glad I made the decision not to run this year, and crew with an experienced team to learn the ropes. Acomplished that goal, no problem.

Three Dog Racing, the team I was with, towed their ITA Maita all the way from Texas for this event. The last thing I said to Myron before the start of the race was 'don't get up into the marbles in the carosel!' Oh, well, the car was not damaged too badly. Everything went fine for ten more hours, and we were turing laps 1-2 seconds faster than the car in third (in our class). But, then the racing gods struck with a vengance - with just about an hour to go, the engine decided to expire in a rather spectacular manner. I understand that there was a crew member from another team taking pictures of the sunset and got a once in a life time shot. He said that the flames under the car were so bright, you could tell what kind of car it was! Sorry for the black flag all, but I understand that the remaining cars had a blast for the last hour with everyone all packed up again.

Anyway, the event was great, the officials and workers were great, the competition was great (we were pitted next to a team from Toronto, Canada and listened to them talk French all through the race). To watch teams come back from adversity and listen to everyone cheer as they took to the track again was unbelievable. This race is a real example of what amateur racing is about!

I hope that more teams will decide to dip their toes in these waters, and make sure that this event returns again next year.
