    Default Quick question

Since I don't spend much time around here anymore, and I don't really follow Club Racing anymore, I was just curious as to what the ITR participation #'s looked like this year. Are people building and racing these cars? I know the V8 pony cars were recently added, but what's the general consensus on the class, is it what the people wanted (as evidenced by the cars that are showing up at the track)?

The ITS / ITR BMWs sure help the numbers.

too soon to tell on the Pony cars... The weight they were classed at may scare off a few. Every ITR car in the NE seems to be a BMW atm...

Only a handful of ITRs in the NE Ohio-Western PA region. There's a 944, a 325i, and yours truly driving a Mustang 3.8L. In southern Ohio there's an Acura RSX-S and another 325i. That's all that I've seen in the last year.

Nationally, I heard that in 2008 there were something like 193 total entries in ITR. Since I represented about nine of those, well, you get the idea....

Had to be more than that. We had 22 entries in 2008 in San Francisco Region alone.

We were seeing 3-4 per MARRS event last year - this year we've only had 2-3. Mostly Bimmers with one 944. The SARRC guys also had 3 show up for the VIR race - Kip's 944, a Z3, and a 325.

FWIW, I'm hoping for 2011 for the debut of my ITR V6 Camaro. Would love to get it out there sooner, but am still dumping $$$ into the ITA car, and unlike Ben I can only afford one money pit at a time

I think the class is coming along nicely. I know of four ITR cars that are under construction now (none of the ones listed here) and I'm not that well connected. I think ITR is doing well, especially given the current economic conditions.

There's another 3.8 Mustang on the horizon: an '02 being built by a former ITB Mustang racer from Buffalo. I'll be really happy to see another V6 SN-95 car out there!
