It would be legal to wrap around any "open" part in IT (e.g., air filter and/or the intake ahead of the throttle body in a FI car). It would not be legal on any item that is not "open" (e.g., intake manifold). - GA

How effective it this stuff? I have a spot under the car where the exhaust pipe comes within about 3/4" of the floor. It gets so hot in that spot (2" x 8") the paint on the inside of the car is charred and actually burned completely off in a spot the size of a quarter. It is also very close to me, like if I put my hand down on the other side of the tunnel I could plant my palm on it. Ouch!

I tried the silver reflective stuff from Pegasus, but the adhesive cooked and dried up causing ity to fall off.

Would an .040" Al heat shield with 1/2" stand offs do anything or do you guys have any better suggestions?

    Thanks,

    Thanks,
Why not wrap that section of exhaust in header wrap?
