    Default rain on

Yes, I had a good run on Saturday am in the rain (Thanks Jeff). It was extremely stressful trying to go and stay fast (and avoid the oval wall after turn 2 a couple times), it got wetter as the race went on.
I was hoping it would rain for the afternoon race too!

I was in the # 67 ITB car and was crossing my fingers that the RX7 didn't come back across the track!!!!

    What a great weekend.

Nice car Ed. That CRX looked awesome and has some wicked motor under there! That thing was a rocket in a straight line, not that it's not good in the turns. But you could definitely notice the power that car had down the straights!

If I understand it correctly, Lorenzo bought the car as it currently sits (minus the left front corner damage) from the builder who was in the southwest. It does seem strong compared to the C cars! Don't think it has much ECU mods as it hasn't raced since '05.

Have a Serra built "to the limit" 40 over motor on a stand in the garage, that will probably go in next winter, after I've learned to drive the thing. Also hoping to turn Matt loose on a MegaSquirt system.

You boys better start looking out for the little silver # 38. Linda is starting to push me to make the car faster so she can pester you guys a little bit more. The wax job I did seemed to work for the rain race.

I am looking into a nitros kit for the next event.

By the way Jeff we have some pretty interesting video of you. Linda is willing to trade it for a drive in the Saturn. Maybe you guys can swap cars for a race????????????

You bought Lorenzos car? Nice. My wallet and I had some real heart to heart about that car.

I don't think you need to do a THING to that car so she can pester us. She did a great job of that in the rain on Sunday!! She was awesome, I was impressed.

I would love to see the video. And she can drive the Saturn anytime........... It will make her appreciate what she's got!!! If driving it scares her HALF as much as it scares me, she will run away fast!!! It can be a handfull.

I also appreciate that fact she avoided me on the start in the third race. I thought for sure there was going to be some contact!!

It was great to get back onto the track for 2009! But the driver was more rusty than the car. The rain race was about survival. I managed to hit #78 Miata (again... sorry!) square in the rear bumper coming into turn 3 early in the race (just brake-sliding on the inside line). Thankfully, no damage to his car and my hood just got a bend in it.

But the hit rattled me enough to just take my time around the track. As the laps progressed, I shook off the cobwebs and started catching Linda. But she drove really well... and given my first encounter with a Miata, I did not press for a pass.

Sunday afternoon was weird - the car handled great but times were slower than I would have expected. Victor and I had some fun side-by-side racing for a bit. And even Lawton and Branscombe joined in the fun while they were passing thru. It was good to end the weekend on a higher note.

As for the "other" CRX... damn fast!! It was great to catch up with Ed in the paddock. Bummer he has some fixes to make to the car.

Time for me to hook up my electric turbo... or maybe rub the rust off my accelerator pedal by using it more.

Here is a link to Sat pm race (Race 1/3) incar video in two parts.

This time, lots of good footage of Doc Breault's butt.

The file for Race 2/3 is corrupted, but I will try to get Race 3/3 up next week.

Well that was kind of painful to watch.
I think you gave every other car on track camera time (except Andy)

Great video Jeff. I was amazed you did not get hit on the start. I had noticed a puff of smoke from your front tires... then you just dropped off. You were quite patient coming thru as Victor and I battled for a bit.

Pretty ambitious going into the bowl, around -8:30 or so, on the CRX! Then you got a gift on the next car...a silver Teg(?) thru 3. Has the clutch been rectified? Nice run, you brought it thru traffic cleanly.. I guess Joe wasn't there....

Jeff, I was wondering what happened to you. Since I started 2nd, I didn't see you for a while, nice run. I was having suspension/shock/wheel problems so I took it easy the second half of the race. I still haven't had time to check out the issue (with the kids), maybe this weekend.
