    Default Finally!

I can finally put a first place under my belt!!!
I had the opportunity to co-drive with Russel in his kick butt IMT Nissan S-ER....
It almost makes me want to jump ship off Saturn.... and we just started to build a new Saturn...
The Daytona ECR was a mess from the first lap going into the first turn a two car spinout All the races are won in the first turn right!

Russel did a great job staying out of trouble the first half of the enduro even though the race was RED flagged and Black flagged once in a three lap period....I think a miata caught on fire... That was the second of two miatas that blew up today.

When it was my turn to get in the car we were in first place once I got up to speed and and got settled in the car I was in front of the second place car by like two seconds and stayed there the whole rest of the race....I have been on the podium a lot and first does feel a lot better!
I want to say thanks to the crew Louis and Jonathon and especially Russell for the opportunity. The hard part was sawing the plaque in half! ...lol

Does anyone know the drivers names of the miata's that blew up?

I knew someone who was going there with a questionable spec miata that some people were a little worried about...

I know the driver was OK, he pulled through turn one around to the barrier and right up to the fire truck.

That was the craziest start I have ever seen.

    OhhhhhBeeeee,

You guys rock. Really neat to see you guys win ITA. Congratulations to you, Russ and those hoodlums of a crew. That made me smile.

I have to admit, double yellow, black flag all, re-start, red flag, black flag all, re-start all within the first 40 min of the race was pretty nuts. Glad no one was injured.

The Driver of a 280z that caught fire had to go to the hospital for some bad burns on his face. That was the cause of the red flag.

Im not sure... Looks to me like gas vapor from a full cell ignited when there was a slight arc in the brake wiring. The "fireball" then found the quickest rout to fresh air which was the drivers window, thus engulfing the driver in flames.

That incident was between 4 & 5 and it was the cause for the black flag all.

The miata that was on fire and pulled behind the wall and up to the fire truck and ambulance between turns 2 & 6 was the cause for the red flag.

    Thanks everybody...
Russell has one fast car there ....man that thing is sweeet! He built that car in his own garage...everything the cage the killer brake vents, strut housings he painted it, the man is a mad scientist....lol

I think the stewards handled everything just right even though it cut into our track time. If people are going to do stupid stuff they need to be pulled in. Our group of cars is the biggest and fastest with ITS,ITA,ITB out there especially all those dang Miatas...I ran from show room stock to get away from them and now they chased me into ITA....like a swarm of bee's lol,

Don't get me wrong some people can drive the wheels off of them but a majority park them in the corners.

Going to pick up the new car tommorow I will get pics along with the build...yes I am doing a first gen Saturn..... i can't leave Lawton and Deebs to get all the harrasment for racing one...
