    Default New ITR SCCA 300zx

Just some proof I am actually working on something. ha

Here are some pics of the z-car stripped ready for the cage. That should be done in the next 2 or 3 weeks.

    Interior stripped out.

Looks like a race car is born. Keep the updates coming.

Geez, I don't look forward in the least to the day I have to start in on the Camaro...

    BTW, love the bucket seat

I think the date is out on that FIA seat so you might need a back brace.

Cool. Why'd you remove the dash? Planning on having a cross bar? Whose doing the cage?

I stripped the interior of the new 240 body this weekend as well. I have to get all the sound deadening out, but everything else is gone. I put the stock seat back in though. Gonna get it to the body shop to get the rear quarter fixed then it's cage time.

Will do. It's running now without the mufflers. Sounds very nice.

Yep the paint scheme will look pretty much the same. Hey, it's team colors!

I do plan on putting in a dash bar. I am going to have Richard Martin build the cage. He did the cage on the 240sx and I like his work.

So what are you guys saying? The bucket seat isn't GCR compliant??????

By the way, if anyone has a driver's side manual seat rail for this thing your willing to part with, let me know!

    Looks good!

Is that transverse bar between the two rear stru towers legal? In the pic it looks like it is seperate from the roll cage and is acting as a rear strut "stay bar". Which I don't believe is legal.

Rules say you can attach as many bars as you want to the cages plates as long as they are part of the 8 attachment points allowed. I don't think I have seen a cage that doesn't have that or something similar.

Legal, for the reasons Tristan stated, assuming his plate(s) meet the rules. - GA

I completely agree. I was just being on teh anal side of the argument playing devils advoacate. It is really hard to tell from the pic but it looks like the bar doesn't even connect to the main cage. That is why I brought it up.

Here's an even more blatant example...

...from my car, circa 2003. The legal-size plate wraps around the strut tower. - GA
