hmm.. That is a good question. I have never been involved in an "IT" trim level build on an 22R, and the stock rebuilds that I have done we never dynoed them after. I would be intersted to see what people say.

Never dyno'd one, but had a bunch.. about as reliable motor as ever built.. trick is to get any RPM out of them. I'd guess around 135-140hp mebbe? Best trick was an early 20R head on the 22R block.. I had various combos in my old Celicas and trucks.. PS... Chuck, I think you did the head work on my co-workers E30?... Anthony M.....

Spinnetti, yes did his motor. I know Toyota has lots of interchangeable head/block options, but I am looking for info on IT specific builds, i.e. all 22RE parts. Have come across a Celica GTS and am thinking............... Chuck

I always loved those.. recently look at a convertible one for the wife... Its a solid car, but not sure that's the ticket to go fast. OTOH, it will last forever and they are fun to drive.. (disclaimer: I work for Toyota and race a Corolla GT-S for the last 17yrs or so)
Not sure if he has any 22R experience, but check with Steve Colletti, who used to race a ITC Corolla in the NE and is / was a major Toyota-head. He might have some good insight into the potential of this engine.
