Thread: Scca First Gear Program

    Default Scca First Gear Program

One of the things I learned at the NEDIV MiniCon last week is SCCA is offering membership to members 24 and younger for the price of $42. This gives them full membership and Sportscar Magazine. This is a great way to recruit new people to our club and a way for our pit crews volunteers to become legal and have insurance coverage at events. You may already be aware of this but if not please spread the word.

    You can join at: http://www.scca.com/joinnow.aspx

    Thanks

You might want to pick up a copy of Dave Gran's "Take the Wheel", a beginner's guide to racing. The book might give you a good idea of what you are getting into and pitfalls that should be avoided.

Or, you could order it online from his website, or some SCCA Regions sell it as well. Great book, an ABSOLUTE must read for a new racer.

You can also get a copy from Cal-Club. I saw a copy sitting in the club office where registration takes place. Or you could get an author signed copy direct from Dave himself.

Dave posts under Gran Racing and is a master of getting the most for his racing dollar. Truely, I enjoyed meeting him this summer.

Great book. It held my hand last year when I was building. I still refer to it often. It should be your first purchase.
