Default Rain tires for 325is ITR

Headed up to WGI this Monday/Tuesday w/SCDA for some lapping time. Forcast calls for rain and I only have Hoosier and Hankook dry. Any recommendations for a good rain tire? Also, is 15" the best rim size? I'm on 16" dry setup.

I can't help you i=on wheel size, but remember the disc must fir the smaller diameter.

If you are dedicating wheels to rain tires, and can find Hoosier Dirt Stockers, that's a great choice. Butm they no longer make them.

The current Hoosier rain offering it the rain radial, also known ans the "molded rain".

barring those, jeez, among street tires, I don't know. I might hit Tire Racks web site and dig some info up there.

And, there's always full tread Toyo RA-1s. Full treads are ok in the rain, and shaved they are OK in the dry.

See you there. What run group are you?

They are the ticket. I bought a set last year at Barber and literally left the field in the rain. The traction was awsome..... I wouldn't consider anything else.

    I run the 225-50-16 ........

yep. hoosier radial wets are the only ticket if you want to win.

buy some 17in wheels for your dry setup and use your 16's for the rain tires.

I have not yet had to use the Hoosier Radial Wets. I have however had very good success with the Kumho V700. I found them very fast in heavy and intermediate rain conditions.

v700's are like running slicks compared to the hoho wets....that is really how big the difference is.

Perhaps, but I owe at least two ITS rain wins to those tires.

Thanks for the tips. Jake, I ran in advanced and instructor. Ian was nice enough to give me more time on Monday as Tuesday sucked and did not run. Needed a boat.
