That fuel cell installation alone has to be 20% of the build total so far....definitely not cheap. Nicely done, however. Very nice indeed.

Thanks Chris The cell and related assembly weren't cheap but will be perfect for some of the longer races. FWIW, I'm hoping to make it out to Daytona at least once in 09 and also possibly the new Moroso for some sprint or ECR weekends.

Two questions. Where does it say you can modify the deck lid for fuel cell install, filler. And how is the rear sway bar mount not "reinforcing"the rear suspension pick up points, As tGA said so well "Just Sayin"

    Good questions

    #1-
    2008 GCR - 9.3.26.1.B and 9.3.26.3
Fuel filler location is unrestricted with installation of a safety fuel cell.

Fuel filler necks, caps, or lids shall not protrude beyond the bodywork of the car.
#2- The bar mount has the minimal attachment needed to safely mount it at the rear of the car. No reinforcement to the pick-up points has been performed.

Thanks Jeff. This shit costs too much even when you're doing it on the cheap. May as well put the time, effort, and funds into it to do it right...

Is that legal? I don't see anywhere in the ITCS that says we can exchange oil fill caps with lightened, and more pimpy colored versions. I also don't see a washer bottle anywhere underneath that hood. Tsk-tsk.

And don't forget the Turn Signal Stalk... gotta have that too. Personally, I recomend a the glove box as a good safe locaton to store it.

Crap. I forgot to photoshop the pics before posting them... now everyone knows about my soooooper lightweight radiator cap! yeah, the billet engine oil cap looks "nice" but is a real PITA. I had plans to replace it with a stock one off my spare engine as the billet piece gets seriously hot. But, hey, at least it's sharp too and cuts your knuckles at the same time it burns you...

Christian, who'd like to note that the oil cap was originally silver...

Hey, that oil filler cap is aluminum, which is a GREAT heat sink. Oil coolers are FREE, so it's just peachy legal! AND it'll burn your hand in a second!
