Indy Fall Frolic Double Regional-canceled

"It is with much regret that the Indianapolis Region must officially announce that we are cancelling our scheduled Champ Series Double Regional weekend, the Fall Frolics at ORP, on September 27-28.
The Region simply cannot financially afford to host this event in the current economy and lack of car counts at the track. With an extra Double Regional at Mid Ohio scheduled after our date, we are now bracketed by mutliple events at M-O.

It is too bad this event had to be cancelled. Indy region does a GREAT job putting on events. Great people!!! The track is another story... The condition of the track is what keeps the car counts down. If the track were repaired (all of it - not just a turn or two), the car counts would go way up! This statement in the announcement: "With an extra Double Regional at Mid Ohio scheduled after our date, we are now bracketed by mutliple events at M-O." really has nothing to do with it. There have been multiple MO races every year after this event. Hopefully NHRA will sell that track and the new owner will put some $ into the road course. Could see large fields racing there if that happened.
