Someone hav an idea what the dB level of the cars at this race were? Are they to stay under 103dB?

There is no track imposed sound control limit at LRP on loud weekends. The 103 dB is a club racing GCR requirement. I do not know if ALMS has any rules. We recorded 120 dB at a busch race there a few years back.

Thanks Dick. I am trying to figure out what 103bd sounds like. Is that roughly SM level?

It's about 1 or 2 db greater than my RX-7 level.

If you're worried about your car, I can give you a neat way to do a test....

Chris: After 18 years of working Sound Control for SCCA, I can tell you this. What may sound loud, may really not be that loud, and what may not sound loud can actually be very loud. Sound has so many components that are variable, it is a real science.
