    Default A1 Steering Rack Lube?

What to use for steering rack lube? The Bentley says Dow Corning Molykote #321. The cheapest I found is $27 for an 11 oz. can. Is there anything else out there that I can use as an equivalent.

VW/AUDI sells lube for their racks. It's on the parts CD. I don't know the cost, however, I've used a good quality grease (Castrol) which has worked fine. The main thing is keeping dirt out of the rack with good tie rod boots. Also ensure that the exhaust doesn't cook the rack and boots. Make sure you heat shield it adequately.
