    Default R-888 tires

Just received a coupon for $100 of a set of R-888 tires in the mail. Sounds like a good deal. Anybody have any experience with these tires yet?

Never heard of them, not that means anything...and is it 100 off? Or the set for 100?

We ran a set on our Lexus IS300 two weeks ago at VIR. They seem to have good wear and heat cycle abilities. THe sidewall is much stiffer than the RA1. The shaved ones are horrible in the rain.
I will post back on this as we gather more data.

I wondered why Toyo was sending me junk mail - I hadn't even opened the thing until I read this post. Yes it's $100 off a set of either the R888s or the new R1R "extreme performance" street tire. Everything I've heard about the R888 says it is just slightly better than the RA1; it still has a 100 treadwear rating, which is what the RA1 had, so I wouldn't expect it to compete with the "H" tires.

I got the rebate as well, $100 rebate on the purchase of (4) R888 tires between now and a few months from now (form at home). If anyone can use it, PM me your address and I'll drop it in the mail.

Jake, Will Turner told me about these 2 yrs ago, at that time they were racing them in europe and down under. I don't know where he got the 100 off coupon but I'm sure it would be for a set.

all reports i've heard is that they are more sensative to tread depth than the RA1, and they wear faster.
