Default The "Is it Too Early To Start Talkin' Trash" Thread

I KNOW everyone is a little anxious for that first race at NHIS. :026:

I know what the competition is going to be like in ITA (probably more intense than last year). What about C, B, S and R?

Who all is coming out?? Anyone new? Will an Integra shuffle the grid in ITS??
    Who's doing the school?
Will the competition close last year's huge gap that Andy B had?
    Hoosiers or Hankooks?

We've got our garages reserved, got the motel reservations in.

    When is on-line registration open?
When/where is the first tech session??

Only 6 more weeks.............6 loooooooong weeks!!

    Default 1st Race at NHIS

I am new, this will be my 1st race at NHIS. I have only raced at LRP and WGI. I will however be attending the school for more seat time and instruction.

Shut up!! Nobody asked you!! (yup, I'm jealous!!)

Sorry Jake, (or should I say Mr Gulick out of respect...). I actually was very glad to hear IT7 was going to run in the NE. I know you guys had your own thing going, but now it's official!! Does that mean you're going to run more than twice this year??

Joe, my car is almost ready to go....How about yours??

I "heard" that Timmy got another 5 hp out of his engine over the winter. We're all in trouble now!!

I will have a miata in ITA this year on a shoe string of a budget... I will hopefully be using whatever tires y'all think are worn out.

First school will be at NHIS as will my first race.

Lot's to do on the car... if it would stop raining and snowing... I could get outside and get something done!

Hey! I was at 3 different tracks last year. Led every race I ran (in IT7). Finishing, now that's another story. Arrrgg. Don't forget I puffed the motor at Lime Rock in three laps of testing...

Plans are in the works to do some upgrades and hit mo' tracks. And that's all I'm sayin' bout that!

God Jeff you can't keep anything a secret.

Truth be told we are giving the car a once over - checking tolerances and specs - a programable ECU - Hondata, checking all the supsension and hope to get on the "dyno" in March. I'm not sure about the Hankooks, as I heard you have to change your driving style a little - Who knows maybe they would suit my mediocre style.

Speaking of "driving style", if we find a little more "umph" in the TEG, keep in mind I'm no Serra or Blaney, so the powers to be can rest easy - Right???

Looking at last year, it appears like there are a bunch of "hot shoes" (old, new, and returning), who will be competing for second place behind our ITA Champ, Andy B. - Should make things intersting back there I'd say.

Aside from the regular front runners of last year, we should keep our eyes on Geoff B, Will M, and Shane H, plus any unknowns and new talent - Am I forgetting anyone?- Maybe they will have the "talent" and power for Miata Almighty.

As far as what we are doing for the season - that is very much up in the air. Work has been extremely slow, I feel the economic future is grim until we get this elcetion behind us, and with one son in college, that makes this season an "economic challenge." I told my son that he needed more scholarship money to help out poor Dad, so stay in the books. CPM Motorsports wants to foot the bill for the season but I cannot stay focused and race in good conscience with out ponying up a chunk of the "Benjamins".

I/we keep making noise about doing a "boutique" season - and doing fewer events at tracks we have not been to yet. Who knows, maybe I'll wait and see if all those hot shoes beat each other up, and come in mid season to pick up the scraps. I remember in '05 we didn't turn a wheel until July 10th, that worked out pretty well - I beleive we squeaked out a championship at LRP - A little luck, a hot car, an avaerage driver - Could it happen again? NOT! Safe to say we are still "exploring our options."

My only question for the rumor mill - Is there any truth to the rumor that Andy painted a "bulls eye" on the #09 - because if that's true I might need to start with the "beg, borrow, and steal" routine.

See ya all soon - hopefully.
