    Default Weight Distribution w/ a V Nose

I just bought a used v-nose trailer. The tongue weight is pretty heavy, so I really think I need a weight distribution hitch. However, the way in which the panels come down over the frame in front, I don't have direct access to the frame. I've heard of permanently welding the chains to the frame underneath, and raising the tongue and hitch, once they have been coupled, to insert the other side of the bars in the hitch. Has any one done this? Does it work? How high do you have to lift it? Any other ideas? Thanks for any suggestions.

You could extend your tongue and use a "pole tongue adapter." I used to have a small v-nose trailer with my formula ford but it had a straight tongue sticking out from the front, where one of these would work.
