When the hairline cracks on the surface make it to the outside edge. As cheap as they are just throw them away. Napa rotors cost about $18 and work well. If you are running proper ducting and backing plates they will last about 4-5 races. Rears about 8.

    Eckerich must brake too much...

I use OE replacements from Brembo and they last the entire season (9 or 10 hours of the 13 hour race, 12 races in the season plus 4 club track days).

Maybe I don't go fast enough to use them up!?!?

It is obvious you haven't raced against the Rotary Rockets of Steve Ekerich or Kent Thompson. Those guys use their brakes to slow the two fasted RX-7's from true MAZDASPEED, to the edge centrifical force onentry into the corner with rotors glowing cherry red. I can tell you they use their cars 100%. If you haven't raced in the southeast against these guys, you haven't seen your cars full potential. Ekerich and Thompson have been the benchmarks in the SARRC Championships.
