I'm stuck. Can't seem to find wheels to work w/ my car.

The short of it is i need 14x6, 5x100 bolt pattern in a ~40mm offset. Anyone know of a source for them????

Preferably less than 12-13lbs, if possible.

I was even willing to spend $280/wheel for SSR type-C's...they were 7.8lbs!!! But they only had the wheels in 4x100. Enkei also has them, the JS+M at 10.5lbs, but again only i 4x100 or 5x114. Same w/ Volk's TE37: 12lbs, but no 5x100.

Tire rack has one in their house brand sport edition d3, but it is 15lbs.

Thanks for the reply. Since my car is an 88, the 35mm offset is bit difficult for the front. When they changed the suspension on the fiero, the offset on the front went to around 40. However, I actually have been looking for those Motegi's...i really like the weight for the price. Every time i call about them though, they say that they don't actually have them in stock.

Somehow forgot about panasport...the most common wheel in motorsport!! Will be giving them a call tomorrow. Keep your fingers crossed for me! ;-)

Check Panasports...they should have what you need. Chuck

If you find a good set of wheels and that offset is the only problem, then any good machine shop or wheel repair shop should be able to chuck up a 14" wheel and knock 5mm off the face and hubcentric...probably shouldn't cost more than a twenty-spot per wheel. - GA

Geez....even panasport can't do it. They don't have it in the single piece wheels (not a surprise), and in their custom wheels, they don't have centers for a 5-hole pattern anymore (is a problem w/ how they do the cutouts in the back of the lug area for lightness).

So, i am back to square one. I am going to try a few more people about the Motegi's, but i am not optimistic. I called the American Racing, and they don't make the RT5 in a 14x6, 5x100 anymore (not a big surprise)...so it would just people w/ old stock...and what's the likelihood that they wouldve stocked up on 14" wheels!!!

It appears that the stock wheels are pretty light, around 11 or 12lbs (who wouldve thunk it), and they are now looking better and better (like that girl w/ the horse face at the end of the bar after about 10 drinks!).

They are only 35mm offset also, but Greg's idea to machine the back is probably a good one for them, since they are probably flat in back (thanks for the suggestion). Anyone have a set of them laying around?

Picked up a pair of Grand Am wheels, which are fiero wheels, except w/ a greater offset (47mm). The offset should help, but they turned out to be about 16lbs...bit heavy.

Am still looking for racing wheels in this size. The only thing i have so far is Bogart/Kodiak, and they around $400/each.

Let us know - I've been watching your hunt and was bummed the panas didn't "pan" out.

I've been looking too - only big buck wheels that I've found and that's for ITA 15x7

Try Spin Werkz. 866-528-7746. They can make them in any offset you want. 14x7 is about 10.5 lbs. Retail is around $230 but if you ask real nice they will knock some off of that price.
    Tell them I sent you!

Spin Werks has good advertized prices. They list the 14x6 at $208 and 11.1lbs. Anything below 12, and i am happy!!

However, they are not sure on the high offset. They are checking on it right now.

    The hunt continues!!!

15x7...i wish!!! Yes, those motegi trak lites look like a good option for you.

BTW, these guys have a great search filter. They show that the trak lite is the only option for you, when you add the restriction of under 13lbs:

    http://www.1010tires.com/wheelsearch.asp?submit=yes

I think you might be able to get the Volk racing te37's i your size also...and ONLY for about $400/wheel!!!

In fact, spin werks is also a good for you:

    SPW82570 15.0 x 7.0 12.0 $231.00

Not to get off the topic of finding me some DAMN wheels...but how do people feel about allowing both ITC and ITB to go to 7" wheels. I think the classes are more correctly based on HP/handling to weight, as the current process correctly does. Putting the wheel size restriction in *also* is just cruel and unusual punishment...AS I AM FINDING OUT RIGHT NOW!!!

I know there has been some talk on here about these fiero's being midpack cars...

If you know this (or strongly suspect it ), I wouldnt worry about spending big bucks on wheels.

    I'd run stockers.

If you HAVE been running stockers for a year or so...and DO make the move up to some big buck wheels...I would be very, very interested in hearing about the differences in lap times.

Please post up what you find.

I agree, that would be the prudent thing to do...but no one has EVER accused me of being prudent!
Do you mean ITA or ITB?

In ITB, a fiero set a track record (at mid ohio?)...though i have no idea what his prep work was.

Lastly, tires cost sooo much, that i see a wheel cost as being incidental (one time cost).

Oh, and i don't want to constantly be thinking that ONLY IF I HAD LIGHTER WHEELS...would rather blame myself!

Anyway, i have already ordered the SpinWerks. They are about the cost of a set of Hoosiers.

I love having a budget car with budget wheels....

Everytime I lose, all I have to do is blame the car! :026:

Takes the pressure off everytime :P

Gotta spend a bit to get on the podium...i don't know how many podiums i am going to be on, but i did just set a track record...I think theyve had two ITB cars ever at this track!! ;-)

Still considering whether to go for the SpinWerks. What do other people think about the 11.5lbs? Is it light enough?
