I am going to be racing my ITA Nissan 240sx next weekend at Sebring for the first time. The car came with a new set of shaved Avon 225/45/15 tires that we will be using. Can anyone give me feedback on the how these tires handle when compared to Hoosiers or Toyos. Also any advice on tire pressures to start with.

I ran them for the first time at Road Atlanta in July. Turned the fastest lap ever in an 88 Pontiac Fiero. Weight at impound was 2674 w/driver. Previous tires were Hoosier 225/45R15 R6. The Avons were 2 seconds faster.
Take this with a grain of salt as suspension adjustments were also made. My co-driver stated that he liked the feel of the Avons better. (2 drivers share the car so we put several heat cycles on the tires each race weekend.) We are running the double SARRC and ProIT at Nashville this weekend, and will see how the Avons do as they heat cycle.

Go get 'em Chuck - let us know how you do.

I was working on the Fiero last night - she's coming along. Heading to the dyno again soon.
