Just a reminder of the Double SARRC / Double Mid-Am coming up at the Nashville SuperSpeedway Aug 31-Sept 2. There's a Test Day on Friday, qualify/race on Saturday and the same on Sunday, then you've got Monday to play tourist in the Music City or travel home. Additional info and sign up links can be found at www.Atl-SCCA.org.

And while you CAN sign up for the Test Day at the gate, there is NO Late Registration being taken for the SARRC/Mid-Am event. The entry deadline is Noon on Tuesday, Aug 28, which includes payment being received (which can be by check or PayPal). Atlanta Region does not deposit checks until after the event and refunds are automatically given for No-Shows, so if you're even thinking about going you should sign up now. And the earlier you sign up, the better your chances of getting the car number and garage stall you want.

    Hope to see y'all there...

And while you're in Nashville, the Lane Motor Museum is a MUST SEE! SCCA FP natl driver and Volvo From Hell, Jeff Lane purchased a former Bond Bread Bakery and made it into the most whimsical and riveting car museum ever. He has the largest Tatra collection in the free world (Ruski V8, rear engine, aircooled luxo car), a huge collection of mini and micro cars (including 4wd/2engine 2CV coupe, higly modified Isetta, etc),
many Citroens including several racecars (how about a DS-19 iceracer?!), Sam Posey's DeDion rear axled CanAm car, a full sized Corvair powered camper built like the Spruce Goose, ....well-you'll just have to see for yourself. Trust me, you'll be amazed and entertained by what you never knew existed. Google it to find web site. Oh yeah-my Super Seven is one of 3 there, but the others are REALLY special-also, did I menytion the 180hp/700lb hillclimb car built by a Lotus F1 engineer-has a one quart gas tank. Or the ...phil

Lane Motor Museum is also housing Nissan North America's car collection that they moved to Nashville when they moved their headquarters from California. It includes racing and street cars, and is so large that Lane can only display part of it at a time. The Lane collection leans heavily toward European and Eastern Bloc cars. Very eclectic, and worth the time. Here's a link to their website:

Nashville Superspeedway is adding 300 linear feet of curbing to the road course, at the request of SCCA racers. They have been e mailing me photo updates each day of their progress on installation of the curbing. The curbing is of two basic styles, what they call "flat top" and "gaterback". Both will, with certainty, modify how you will drive those corners.
With the busy race schedule of Double SARRC/MidAM and ProIT, Practice and Qualifying will be combined, limiting track time before your race. Chattanooga Region invites you to participate in our Practice Day on Friday, August 31 to learn the revised course. Late registration is permitted for the Practice Day, right up until noon on the day of the practice. Info is at:
