The project to add 300 linear feet of curbing to the road course at Nashville Superspeedway is on schedule to be completed just before our events there. That change promises to change how the track will be driven. So, even if you have driven Nashville before, you need to consider entering the Test Day on Friday, August 31. Despite the track being rather short, it takes a lot of laps to get it mastered, especially the extreme decreasing radius turn one.
Join us and be among the first to see the improvements to the track.

Just a reminder of the Double SARRC / Double Mid-Am coming up at the Nashville SuperSpeedway Aug 31-Sept 2. There's a Test Day on Friday, qualify/race on Saturday and the same on Sunday, then you've got Monday to play tourist in the Music City or travel home. Additional info and sign up links can be found at www.Atl-SCCA.org.

And while you CAN sign up for the Test Day at the gate, there is NO Late Registration being taken for the SARRC/Mid-Am event. The entry deadline is Noon on Tuesday, Aug 28, which includes payment being received (which can be by check or PayPal). Atlanta Region does not deposit checks until after the event and refunds are automatically given for No-Shows, so if you're even thinking about going you should sign up now. And the earlier you sign up, the better your chances of getting the car number and garage stall you want.

    Hope to see y'all there...

The curbing will all be on the back side of the road course from Station 1 to Station 4. The part that is within the inside wall for the Oval will be raised curbing. The part that is outside the Oval wall will will be level with indentions. They couldn't put raised curbing outside that Oval wall because it could launch an IRL car spinning across it. They average over 200 MPH there, so they could get some big air!
The Superspeedway facility managers visited other orad courses in the South to see how they positioned and shaped their curbing and are copying those judged to be the best. They also talked with some of our best drivers. When we ran there before, Track Trials and Road Race, we left them some good hints on where it was needed, by the tire marks across the grass and gravel kicked out of place. I look forward to seeing the curbing. They are scheduled to be working on it today.
