I wonder why don't they further combine classes and then allow each class to have a longer race?

Even the IT group with 34 cars could easily accomodate more on such a big track. But some of the other groups that only have 10-15 cars in it will probably be quite lonely out there after a few laps.

Get there as early as you can, find as many people in your car class as possible, find the Chief Steward, and plead your case. Or even look in the supps for their name and email your case.

I used to run in EP, and we, as a class (all 5-9 of us) would approach the Steward and plead our case to move race groups. Our argument was more to get away from the GT-1's and GT-2's.

I don't have a case to plead.

I am just trying to learn why they don't combine the groups more. Seems silly to me to send just 10 cars out on such a big track.

But I have limited knowledge of other classes and how the SCCA runs things.
