Thread: Fiero

I recently tested my Fiero...After about 10 laps, I came in only to discover that I could not get into or out of gear (s)...After a "cooling off" period, it worked well again...until it became "hot" then no gear selection. This was an all day adventure. Does anyone have any suggestion as how to cure the problem? I was using DOT 4 fluid. I was thinking the heat from the exhaust was heating up the slave causing some moisture. Looking for any help! Thanks! :

It sounds like you have an air bubble in the slave cylinder. Sometimes it it necessary to crack the bleeder and pull the plunger back into the cylinder then close the bleeder while holding the plunger in order to get all the air out. As the air bubble gets hot it expands causing loss of travel. That's why you lose pedal.

have you used a heat shield on the slave cylinder? you might want to rap the lines for the slave also.
