Quick odd question, I am putting together a back up engine and when I put the timing shaft in (after cleaning and having the cylinders bored) it fit the races fine but I noticed the section of the shaft from the timing belt race to the timing teeth race was offset and looks like it wobbles although it turns fine and smooth. This looks like a cast piece, was it made that way? are they supposed to be straight? thanks

That is how they are. Must be a cheap casting. Should not be a problem.
