New here but have been reading for months.

I have an ITB Rabbit GTI with a kinked metal fuel line where it turns a 90 up into the engine bay. Can I replace that section with a brass 90' fitting? I was going to flair the ends of the line and fix just that section.

Am I looking at a total fuel line replacement? Would a universal line from NAPA do the trick or can I replace it with stainless braded line? For those not familiar, this line runs under the car from the gas tank to the engine bay - turns up at a 90 degree angle - and then up behind the motor to the drivers side fuel distributor.

    Thanks for posting.

From the GCR - ITCS - page 296 of the 2007 edition:

Fuel line(s) may be replaced, relocated, and given additional protection. If the relocated line(s) passes through the driver/ passenger compartment, it/they shall be metal or metal braided, and shall be securely fastened. An external fuel pump pressure regulator may be installed.</span>

    HI DAVID!!!

There&#39;s a big 07 on the car right now! No more fighting for the coveted #14. Good to see you&#39;re still out having fun. Just been doing local track days for the past few years... I have 1.5 and 3 year old daughters!

I&#39;m going to run stainless line from where the kink is to the fuel distibutor. It&#39;s the best and safest way to go.

Tony & Mark, the two of you are not the only 07&#39;s in the world. My friend Erik Skirmants who was from Wixom, MI was 07 untill he took the position with SCCA Enterprises Inc. Now he&#39;s a SRF rental guy 8 to 10 times a year at National events & takes the number that&#39;s on the rental car. He was 07 which is a reversed 70 which his father Vick (several National Championships) has always been.

T, congrats to you & the bride on the two little people. My gran daughter Hannah Rose (Vickie & Dewey) turned 3 on May 2nd. We have playday once a week which is really neat. Son Dan has been in Royal Oak for approx 10 years. Both guys got married 5 years ago within 3 months of each other.
