I pickup up a '95 E350 diesel van. The passenger compartment is not as quiet as we've grown accustomed to. There are times when my wife would actually like to converse or listen to CDs (aren't women strange?).

Anybody have any tips to quiet things down? I'm thinking either a sound-deadening spray on the doghouse cover or some kind of sound-absorbing foam mat.

    Thanks,

Can't help you with the conversation, but for the tunes, noise-cancelling headphones with the ipod work great!

    go to www.ford-trucks.com

do a search in the audio forum there are a number of threads about putting sound deadening in ford trucks to quiet the diesel noise. it involves removing most of the interior and putting various brands of sound insulation everywhere.

I had a 7.3PSD E350 for years...the only solution was bigger speakers on the sound system.
