So from May 25 - 28 we're coming to LRP with the Turbolader GTI ...
Who wants to come out and help crew?

We're preparing to do something special for LRP with a VW club, car corral and parade laps with the GTI leading the parade.

Why am I telling you this?
Well aside from needing some crew help, we could use some help in locating funded drivers who have the means to rent a seat in the car for LRP.
We have drivers lined up for Miami, WGI, Mosport but so far nobody for LRP. So if you guys can spread the word we would really like to not miss this event.

As for sponsors... with the special car corral and parade laps we got setup this is a good opportunity to get you and/or your product/sponsor in front of the big LRP crowds and into the biggest marketing demographic in the USA.

So if any of you good IT drivers want help getting your GAC license before the event and want to "make the big show" let me know.

Darn it I really would like to help you out at LR with set-up/crewing, etc., but probably should go to NHIS for the NARRC double. I dreamed of driving the GAC, but it's just not in my budget. Question: Is the front suspension on that thing articulated like an Audi or still a basic MacStrut?

It's a Mac strut just like those other funny German cars what are they called? The BMW M3 and the Porsche 911 GT3R ... yah them

When roll is limited with sway bars and springs, and we dial in the proper caster so that you get neg. camber while turning, the camber lost in roll due to the Mac geometry is no longer a big factor.

I can attest the car is fast...real fast!! We were in first...had a good pit stop came out at the back of the lead lap (under caution) got the green and made it up to 5th...got a drive thru penalty (pit lane speed) back to last...I got the car up to 5th then got punted by the Subaru in 4th after the pass was made...we fell back to 10th and worked my way back to 7th when the checkers fell. If we didn't have the drive thru and some of the incidents (Haskell nailed us in 1 subaru incident and multiple bad moves by others) we could have won the thing! Andrew lewis turned the fastest lap of the race early on. All in all a good weekend and I would reccomend it to anyone!!

I will say Haskell was a class act...he came right up and discussed it like an adult. The guy in the Subaru was a tool when I talked to him about the big punt...

There is more elevation change than you can see in the video. More than Pocono.
And since when is "pool table" bad ?

The exit of the final turn before the back straight was actually bumpy enough to cause serious power delivery problems early on...we got a handle on it though.

Soooooooooooo who knows about VW dealers in the Tri-State area NY, CT, Mass that might be amiable to getting involved with us for the upcoming LRP event?

We have drivers willing to sign autographs, a car corral with 75-100 VW/Audi owners who are "captive" potential new customers.... we're doing 2 parade laps that a dealer can enter cars into.....

We can put together a good marketing package for a dealer who wants some unique exposure for far less than a TV commercial. Any leads ???

BTW, any other biz wants this sort of exposure, we're all ears....

Driver lifted in the diving turn which resulted in this:

Car is getting frame straightened right now. We're going to be tight making it to Mid-O...

Oh and if anyone is interested... we looking at doing a few GTI or GLi in T3 next year.
Should be a strong car and VW may have some interest in a new car running Nationals.

We're currently working on getting it classed. Info is the the CRB already.

Well, that sucks! Thats a problem when you share a car. Sorry to see the result, although it looks like the wheels are kinda straight!
