Just wondering who is going to "The Rock" this weekend. I am planning on being there, but running in SPU.

    Scott Franklin
    IT7 and SPU

BTW, if you haven't heard yet, there may be a problem with getting into the gate before 5:00 or 5:30 on Friday. If you want details, PM me.

Count me in! Sounds like the place is really suited for the IT-7 cars. If I counted right, we've currently got 14 on the list.

The "in-progress" entry list is up at: http://www.fingroup.com/NcReg/registrationEntry.htm

Looks like it's going to be a great time. I joined the Region shortly after we stopped using Rockingham, so this will be a new experience for me. I've been hearing some great stories about the old days. Heard that Ricky Thompson and Paul Perez had some really spirited contests there -- I understand that once Ricky beat Paul at the line on three wheels! Wonder if any of the ole Florida crowd (Mike Van Steenburg, Gig Smith, etc.) will show up??

I'll be there in ITB, this will be my first race under my new regional license and first time at the Rock. Looks like a pretty good turn out in run group 7 with 29 entries so far and 6 in ITB.

We'll be running both enduros-Carolina Cup and ECR- with my ITC Honda Civic. Where are all the ITC cars?!?

Should be some great track time and the NCR SCCA region has helped make improvements to the curbing at the track.

Everyone should come out for some fun, see you there!

Planned to go, but too many extra hours at work resulted in the car still needing to be put back together.

You guys have fun. Mine is still in the trailer from the ARRC with a colapsed muffler. Might get the beast ready for Kershaw if I stop working on other peoples cars.

... Maybe I can pick up where I left off in 1998 ....... last SCCA race at "The Rock" .... 1st ITA

I'm in. New bushings (1st new ones in 21 years!) and a new sway bar should make for an interesting 1st time experience at this Roval. Maybe it will be as good or better than 2 years ago at Lowes when we had the ITC car up to 8th place (overall) in the rain in the ECR?!

    The Rock.....oh, what memories......

Rickey, Paul, The Red Mist, midnite hot laps around the track.....

and wasn't there a blue RX7 with yellow wheels that turned some fast laps there?

wonder if the ghost of it will raise its head?

As a local, the Moore County area has more to offer for dining and nitelife.

    PS...mocoboyz are in MOore COunty.

Thanks to Mr. Ricky there making the Z not look like a banana and Grover aligning it, it looks like the 260Z will be down at the Rock. Looking foward to it and if I like it, might just race that Z car for the year. Damn Jensen....

Is that a Galaga Machine? I guess there's no chance of that making the trip to the Rock?

BTW... Nice roof! That should gain you some much needed speed.

Hey Mocoboyz, glad you're going to be there! Great to hear from yall again -- it's been too long.

Hey, I understand Bob Garmon's Ole Blue # 71 will be there with a new Van Steenburg engine and transmission and a Chris Schimmel cage upgrade. I'm sure Uncle Jack will take a moment and enjoy the weekend. Also, I hear that D.T.R. Allen Buie (6 time champion) will be there.

Finally, newbe Justin Deffenbaugh will be making his racing debut this weekend. I'm sure he'll make his Happy Japs parents proud.

Looking forward to a great weekend!

    Memories from the Rock...

12A RX7 was an ITS car......

some 12A's out ran fast 240z's(white with periphial ports, but not from Durham County).....

the parties...., engine swap parties that is....

    Scott,
Garmon's Ol' Blue, could that be the same blue RX7 with the yellow wheels?? If so, I believe there might be a track record by that car to uphold. Sounds like some mighty big ports, I mean shoes, to fill!!

Oh my, big ports and brass balls. That combination should have set a track record....

I hope Ole Blue remembers her way around the track. And yes she did have yellow wheels at one time.
