OK so I posted this on my local club forum and got mixed response so lets open it up to a larger audiance.

    Question for Tech Guys
Can you mix the dia and thickness of roll cage material as long as it still meets the minimum spec.?
    Reason I ask.
Cage in the car I am prepping is a bit overkill (done by PO)on the tubing but I do not want to start again. 1.75"od x 0.125 wall (GCR allows for 0.095 wall or 1.5"x0.120")

I need to add door bars, a dash bar, aroof cross brace and maybe a petty bar.

Do I need to use the same material size or can I change it to the GCR spec sizes.
    Either 1.75" wall 0.095
    Or 1.5" wall 0.120

Off the top of my head (havent' built any IT cages yet for 07 so I haven't done my usual refresher):

The doorbars have to match the material in the main hoop if it's an update to meet the 2 bar rule OR if you're taking advantage of the NASCAR allowance on the pass. side.

All of the other bars you're thinking about adding are non required bars. You can use DOM brake line tube if you want since they removed the section about all bars meeting the min. requirements.
