61 laps only three laps down for the first time out? We, of course, require a full report, Bill.

Note inside rear off the ground in standard Rabbit "pissing on fire hydrant" stance...

So even with the IRS the fatty swaybar picks up the inner rear. Hmm, I wonder if 1500lb springs would work and allow the inner rear to stay on the ground?
    It does look tough

The car does look tough, and the 3-wheel stance brings a nostalgic tear to my eye!!!

Heh heh thanks guys... Tough huh? :P

    >> Note inside rear off the ground in standard Rabbit "pissing on fire hydrant" stance..

    >> So even with the IRS the fatty swaybar picks up the inner rear.

Well it's not all that it apears to be. With the IRS we would like to see the rear wheels stay on teh ground far more than they do with the beam axle cars. Unfortunately we've run out of droop on the rear shocks! So it's the lack of travel that is causing this. Now having said that we will be testing twice before Homestead and after we alter the rears to get more travel we will be trying stiffer rear bar settings nad more rebound damping...both of which may pick the wheel back up again....but it's not desired. However I did note that even the fastest TSX and RSX cars lifted the rear in the hairpins. It really isn't a huge deal with FWD....as you all know.

    >> Hmm, I wonder if 1500lb springs would work and allow the inner rear to stay on the ground?

They'd have to be sooo long and the rear would ride sky high in a straight line. But who's to say we dont have 1500# springs? Afterall our RSX buddies run 3000# rear springs.

Building this car is MUCH easier than building an IT car. The rules are really simple. By the way, the car has ImprovedTouring.com decals on the side windows. :026:

If anyone is considering a new GTI for a street car, do it! The car is miles apart from the A4 chassis cars. It's really a good car right out of the box.

Bill - you are right on in regards to this being a great street car. We picked up a 4 door GTI in September. I was never sold on the look of the new car, but driving it is another story.
