I have a couple of quick questions Im pretty sure that you guys can answer.

    1) what sort of final drive is the norm for a good starting point when it comes to the Gear boxes for lets say and ITB MK3 car?

    2) how are the hubs in the MK3's? do they last or are they weak points?

thanks for the help. trying to get some answers

It's going to depend on what tracks you'll run. Better to determine current top speeds in class at end of straight, and calculate backwards from there. Unlike the close-ratio box in the Golf 2, The wider box in the Golf 3 isn't going to be quite so flexible. I was thinking 4.88 or so for Northeast tracks.

The Golf 3 hubs look very sturdy. I don't expect to see any problems there.

There aren't any problems with the hubs, as long as you Torque them correctly.

4.25 is the magic number and the hubs and bearings annually or whenever hit.
