Perhaps it's just too much racing in one weekend, but right now we've only gotten 17 entries in Sunday's "Miata Madness" race at the ARRC. Maybe that will change with some more money added to the payoff?

    = = = = = =

BSI of Ormond Beach, FL, and Vision Painting of Suwanee, GA, have ante'd up $2500 to add to the purse and are now the title sponsors of the "Miata Madness" race at Road Atlanta on November 12. The additional prize money will be added to the $125 from each entry fee that will be paid back to the top five in each class in this Miatas-only race. Additional details of the payout can be found at www.ARRC-Online.com, but the popularity of the Mazda Miata in various SCCA classes should make this a VERY exciting race to watch.

Doesn't need to just be in (A)SM or SSM. ITA, ITS, ITU, SPU, SPO(!) and any other car that started out as a Miata is eligible for this race.

Butch, are the pro drivers eligible? I heard they are not. And EP?

The only restriction on drivers at the ARRC is that guys who participated in SpecMiata at the Runoffs cannot run Saturday's ASM race (the "Championship race"). Anybody can run any other race and those guys can run in a different class.

Miata Madness if for Miatas regardless of what class they run in and prize money will be distributed based on class finish, not overall. If somebody out there has a V-8 powered Miata, it sounds like it'd be a lock for the SPO win. :P We thought it'd be neat to have a race of nothing but Miatas, but for whatever reason people are staying away in droves (17 entries right now). We learn and move on.

An EP Miata would compete in SPU. You'd need to do something to make it "illegal" for EP (duct-taping dive planes on the front fender would work). The MX-5s would compete in ITU.

    Did I understand the question(s)?
