Has anyone ever had a situation where the thing just won't time right? I just had my 2nd rebuild of the season and can't get it running right. I set the crank at 5ATDC, align the CAS marks, and insert the CAS so that the screw is about in the middle, where it usually is. When I put a timing light on it, the marks are hardly even visible. I have to turn the CAS all the way counterclockwise just to get it to TDC at idle. It will not go back to 5ATDC. There is very little advance w/ throttle application - certainly not past 20BTDC. I've tried 2 CAS and 2 ECU - same result. Any ideas?

The gear that runs the CAS can be installed backwards and will cause problems like this.

Steve I believe this is an urban legend. I have looked at the timing gear. Flipped it both ways and the teeth line up the exact same way.
