Greg - they occasionally show up on www.neons.org and I bought a set from a guy on sccaforums.com

BTW, the owner of Moder Performance was looking at a group buy for the Rota Slipstreams for Neons. There is a thread on the neons.org site.

From my understanding they have discontinued them.

Just weighed the stock wheels 14" at 16 lbs and the new 15" Kosei K1's at 14 lbs

A 205/60/14 Hoosier weighed in at 19 lbs and so did a 205/50/15 Hoosier.

    Greg,

Am I to understand that a factory wheel with Hoosier tire weighed 19 lbs?

Also, a Kosei with a Hoosier tire wieghted 19 lbs?

Time to go back to the 14's

Wrong Greg, but no: the Hoosier tire itself must weigh 19#. My Volk wheels with 225/50-15 tires weighs high 20's total. - GA

I was thinking that. I swear I had weighed a Neon wheel with tire at 30 lbs and change.

    stock wheels 14" at 16 lbs + a 205/60/14 Hoosier weighed in at 19 lbs = 35 lbs.

    15" Kosei K1's at 14 lbs + a 205/50/15 Hoosier at 19 lbs. = 33 lbs.

I weighed the item's separately to try to determine which wheels are lighter and which brand tires are lighter. Unsprung weight ya know !!!
Gonna make the trick shocks work.

We did this excersize as well on our scales: all 15x7

225/45/15 Hoosier Dry on SSR 32#
225/45/15 Hoosier Dry on Kosei 35#

205/50/15 Hoosier wet on SSR 28#
205/50/15 Hoosier wet on TSW 36# surprised this is close to dry set-up but the rain tire is 4# lighter

205/50/15 Goodyear dry on SSR 28# don't know what Hoosier will be
205/50/15 Hoosier wet on Kosei 33# Kosei is 5# heavier than SSR

(Jerry - the top 2 are RX-7 fitaments and the bottom one is my Miata)

    Andy
Do the RX7 wheels fit the Neon?
I am not familiar with bolt patterns.

No. You have a Neon? Did you buy Randy's red one?

No, I haven't bought anything yet, just tossing some ideas around.
It would be nice if I could use the Miata tires on a Neon if I did.
I'm trying to see what wheels are available that are somewhat inexpensive.

The Neon uses a 5x100 bolt pattern. Something around 35mm offset works well.

Rota makes two different 15x7 wheels for the Neon, both are available from Modern Performance for under $500/set.

Does anybody have any experience with Rota wheels? The wheels look nice, the specs are right and the pricing is good.

    Rota Slipstream - 13.2 lbs

    Rota RB - 14.2 lbs
