I see several of these things around and dont know anything about them. Where do any of them run? Is it a ITS car or ITR or what? For than matter is it a front or rear wheel drive car? any support in aftermarket or over the counter parts? They make a MX3 to I think with the very small v/6 engine. Any where in IT can these cars run and if so will the run with top 10 cars? Just wondering.

If you are talking about the V6 LS version, yes it is an ITS car. FWD, 164hp. Might even get a new spec weight (2570ish) if the CRB adopts a revision to the FWD adders in ITS.

The MX3 would make a good ITA car but it has no aftermarket so everything would have to be custom...See Greg Amy...I think it would run at the front if someone made the effort. The MX6 is basically a Probe

I used to own a MX3 GS (1.8 liter V6 if I remember correctly) and not everything would have to be custom. Last I checked you could buy off the shelf headers, intake, shocks, and possibly sway bars. Eckeridge (sp?) could build a diff that'd work as they all had open diffs from the factory. Not sure if anyone manufactures a FD for the tranny. Most of the suspension is the same as the early 90's Protege and even the late 80/early 90's Escort GT's which were somehwat popular in Solo2.

Finding a chassis shouldn't be too hard as there were "enough" of them built that they aren't too rare. The engine was super smooth and revvy but didn't make much torque and isn't too powerful by today's standards. Aero seemed good at the time but I'd have to look up the specifics on it. Front suspension was typical strut and the rear was a multilink that was setup with some sort of dynamic toe control that was based on bushing deflection to improve turn-in and rotation. I'm not sure how much of that could be elimited with stiffer bushings before bind became a problem? I'm not sure about the brake size.

I'd really like to see someone build one... I think it'd be a good car for the class.

We raced an MX6GT turbo for a couple of years - SSA club racing and the old ESCORT endurance series. I know it's apples and oranges but it had a LOT of poop, with just a few minor, typical tweaks. I also remember it having really good brakes, although they may have been bigger on the GT than on the other versions.

This is the car, by the way, that we put bolts through holes in the floor around the feet of the welded-in rollcage, since at the time they weren't allowed in club racing SS cars...

The Nonamakers ran an MX6 V6 in the street stock series that became grand am cup. The car was a front runner. They were and probably still are called planet earth motorsports. I am sure they would have a lot of info on making one quick mX6.
