I'm going to run the new Kumho tires in my ITB GTI. I would like to know whats a good starting point for tire pressures, what kind of temps and pressures I'm looking for at the end of a run. It would be great if anyone can help me, i would hate to lose a couple of seesions just trying to figure things out, so a starting point would be great.

i'd start with 25# front and rear and expect to gain 10 #'s up front and 5# in the rear. or shoot for whatever you like for front/rear bias.

stay under 40# hot or you will regret it. search at honda-tech.com for other info on kumho tire pressures.

i also run itb and now you can decide if this is advice or misdirection.

The car weighs 2280, the tire size is 205 14 50's, the camber depends on the track but I would say betwenn 1.5 and 3 degrees neg. I hope this helps and thanks

I used to run my GTi between 29 and 31 cold with Kuhmos. Usually the rears 1 - 1 1/2 more than the fronts.

Hmmm...does this mean the Kumho 710 ? If so, then you're looking for substantially lower hot pressures than with Victoracers or Ecstas. For 710's, the Kumho guys will probably recommend 30-34 hot, so try starting in the 23-26 lb range.

Ecstas and Victoracers like 38-42 hot, so adjust accordingly if you really mean them, rather than the 'new' Kumho tire.
