Anybody running the VW 14 x 6 7-spoke factory wheels on an A1 chassis? I picked up a set and put a set of Hoosier 205/55/14 R6 on them - Hoosier 205's are a lot wider than the Toyo 205's - and haven't had the opportunity to get the car out yet.

Edit: Did some research. The wheels are from Golfs, '95-'99, 45mm offset.

…I feel ill at how far we have drifted from engineering and automotive integrity. It's not just nostalgia. It's more like sorrow. For a shining moment in human history all our science and engineering blossomed to create the great inventions and designs. Now we engage in techno-masturbation like Twitter and TPMS…

If you mean the 14x6" A2 wheels with 7 flat spokes, they have the same 38mm offset as most others (although they may also be slightly heavier). The A3 wheels have a tad more negative (43mm?). Spacers are probably needed to run the 225 Hoosiers, but the 205s *should* be okay.

Edit: Although it may require taking out some of the camber at the adjusting bolts in order not to rub the strut.
