No, it's not IT but it is WAY cool!

Actually has 8 "real turbines" at about $1500 each! Took over 2 years to build. It has a wing span of about 22 feet. Takes multiple pilots, as there are so many things to control. Think they were nervous during the maiden flight? Unbelievable that someone would make this - all real turbines!
Check out the movie link below to see the first flight.

Auto racing, bull fighting and mountain climbing are sports. The rest are just games.

Awesome. Any link to a website? I'd like to see those engines.

Andy Sheldon, a fellow I know in the UK, had a lot to do with the turbine setup on this aircraft. He runs Tornado, a company in the UK that specializes in GT40 replicas and is a frequent poster on my www.gt40s.com site. He runs this company that does a lot with model turbines:

    and Tornado cars here:

Guy has a lot going on and a great job(s)!

Fascinating on both an engineering and aviation level! That thing did NOT look very stable in pitch and I was actually concerned about getting it back on board in one piece. Super! - GA

I've wondered what I would feel like if I trashed the race car - I can't begin to imagine what those guys felt like.

I noticed that too. I was wondering if it was just the camera angle or?? The takeoff looked as though it was in a stiff crosswind, but the landing looked pretty good! They lost one of their wing wheels it appears. And the gear looked like it was sort of retractable.

Those turbine engines are some serious items! The come with EGT sensors and ECUs, and a Ground interface computer! Now, multiply that by 8! The weakest weighted about 2 pounds and had 13 pounds of thrust at about 120,000 rpm. So thats a min of 100 pounds of thrust, IF they used the small ones. Of, if they went midsize, it was more like 30 pounds each, so 240 total. I'd like to see more about the plane.
