    Very cool

Weird pistons, but probably normal for an oil burner, LOL

Le Mans will be cool this year. What's the tq number on this one? 800 plus?? And it redlines around 5500? But gets great mileage.

This is the year we find out if the rulesmakers earned their pay.

Actually Jake, they're not too terribly different than a 16v gas piston. And yes, cool video. Will love to see it run this year!

The cone on the TDi pistons is quite pronounced.
16v pistons are flat top with small cut outs for the valves edges to clear.

You can see it well here:

Yes. "See it" is all we'll do. Because it's so quiet you certainly wont hear it. The drivers can't hear the engine to know when to shift !

I'll let you know! Just received my 4 free (did I say free?, Yes, FREE!) 4-day super passes for the Sebring 12 Hour. All of my guests will be IT.comers so you know where the party will be!

(No not us honey, we don't behave that way!)

I have been content to watch it on TV over the past decade, but hey, free is free.

I can't wait to see all of the new hardware that will debut at Sebring. Anyone have an idea of what other automotive eyecandy we will be seeing? I haven't researched it much. Maserati? Ferrari? Corvette? Viper? New BMW PTG GT class entry?

My only regret is that I can't get Friday off to enjoy the World Challenge races.

Now THAT IS a shame, because they are likely to be great races!

And it is cool to see what the very high end of "IT" is like.
(Yes, I know, they aren't IT cars, and they all have different rules, this one gets compresssion, this one a cam, and so on, but they are interesting to check out.

Did anyone see the Cadilac?? Man that thing was 1% car and 99% exotic racer!

It's funny you say that. A friend of mine "dabbled" in GT a few years ago, and after his very first event at Sebring, he commented to me that, "It's really just glorified, expensive IT racing!".

And so after a year of financial torture, he sold the car and continues to race IT!

For those interested in the R10 noise.
Deadly silent... all you hear is air and gears...and tiny bit of exhaust

Yeah! Turbos make great mufflers, that and the silly low RPM range=quiet. Not a reason not to absolutely love what they are doing with that car though. I remember being at Petit when the R8 showed up, I thought that car was pretty quiet, it was in comparison to all of the others. Nice video, thanks.
