When I look through the ITCS, the 1988 325e is not in either ITA (lists 84-87 325e/es) or ITS (lists 87-91 325i/is). Does that mean the 88 super-eta is not allowed?

Correct, the so called super-eta is not yet classed. If you are interested you should request it's inclusion.

i overlooked that fact... the super-eta is NOT classed... interesting... i wonder if they'd classify it in ITA with maybe a slightly higher weight...
b/c i doubt that car can take on ITS cars
