    Default Pinion seal leak

    Hi gang, I thought I had resealed a bad pinion seal leak on the Pinto (6 3/4" Diff) but gear oil puked out yet again! any ideas? Thanks Glenn

    May not be the seal--look for a "groove" or worn shaft running through the seal.

    If that is buggered, no matter how many new seals you have, you will have leaks.

    Sometimes the problem can be temporaily cured by not installing the seal all the way.

    Be sure that the vent is not clogged........

    Vent is not clogged it breaths well, I will try the seal trick thanks Glenn

    Also, make sure the pinion bearings are tensioned correctly. A moveable pinion shaft will wear the seal quickly as it wobbles. When you remove the yoke, you will be able to evaluate the seal surface for a "grove".
