Default 1994, 95 Mustang LX Question

OK besides the weight issue of 3100 pounds...

the V6 motor is 3800 cc's which would be
probably the largest in the class......

why doesn't anyone race the Mustang in the
    ITS class........

There must be something about the car that we
    have not researched yet ?????

The American Sedan guys have already sorted the
    suspension......

What am I missing on this car that makes
noone want to race it. ?????

The 3800 V-6 is best suited for marine applications...as an anchor!

That is just plain cruel. The V6 is a bit anemic. The 99+ motor had a wonderful jump in power. At 145 HP for the 94-98 and 3100 lbs it doesn't even look good on paper. For regional races you could still have fun. I think you could squeeze 200 HP out of the motor legally.

O.K. What if we could get the 99+ classified into ITS? Would that car be competitive? (Assuming it would be 3100 lbs)

I also have wondered this. I believe that it may not be the fastest car in ITS, but I am sure it would not be the slowest!

I'm going to check into getting the 99
    Mustang classified in ITS.......

it has the horsepower and I think it might be pretty competitive......the suspension
can be copied from AS.......the front airdam
can be copied from AS.......it came stock
with a rear spoiler for rear downforce....

and it would seem that you could build it a
lot cheaper than the BMW ......

    the homework starts........

I hope it can work. I would be interested in it in the future. The chasis in 99 was improved and very little if any weight gains. The motor in stock form was pushing 200hp. The 3.8 is a great motor. Keep us posted as to what you find out.
