'91 EGT can I use 14" rims

My Escort GT originally came with 15" rims. A buddy of mine has offered to let me use some of his race rubber. Only problem is, they are for 14's. Can I move down to 14" rims when my EGT came with 15's from the factory?

Sorry, Jeremy, the GCR (the bible in SCCA racing) says that for a '91 EGT you can only run 15" wheels. I guess you'll have to fork out the big bucks! Later, Jon.

I would think that 14" wheels would fit if the bolt pattern and offset are correct. If you are beginning, I wouldn't say no to free or cheap rubber to get some experience. You'd want to get the correct size wheels eventually.

Joe, don't want to teach the newbies how to cheat, GCR says run the 15's then he needs to run the 15's despite free rubber. If he runs in another series, they may let him run different sizes in that case go for the freebies.
