    Default New SilverHorse Racing Mustang

    To all you Ford guys:

We're building a new 1993 Mustang Coupe for the 2003 season, and this baby is going to be the car that shows the offshore stuff that a domestic can still do the job! We've now picked up Evolution Motorsport (www.evolutionmsport.com) as a sponsor, they had best new product award at SEMA this year, for a custom Watts-Link suspension that will be legal for IT, along with a bunch of other suspension components for the Mustang. Our new car will once again be running the 2.3 DPDIS injection, and SuperChips will be handling the tuning for us again as well.

And as for the #88, she's found a new home in the MARRS region, and will be running the circuit to our north as well, also sponsored by Evolution Motorsport. Our permanent number will be changing this year, so be looking for the same team, but with a new car and new numbers!

What's everyone else doing for 2003?

SEDIV SARRC series, and selected ECR's and regionals. We finished 6th out of over 100 drivers this year, and that was with the DNF at the championships due to the beating I took on the first lap. Otherwise, we might have held our 5th place in the points, or even moved into 4th. (We were as high as 3rd at mid-season).

If we get the right package of sponsors together though, we're looking to move to T2 or Speed TC, but that's a big step dollar-wise. So for now, it's another season of ITB in the Southeast! Check out our website, there's plenty of pics and info there to see what we've been up to this season.

    Manny,

Good to hear you're doing okay. We'll be there, and wait until you see the new car. This baby is going to have everything but a flux capacitor... and it might even have one of them if I can figure out where to put it! Actually, it's just going to be an extension of the old #88, using everything I've learned on it, and hopefully adding a few new ideas that I never got to incorporate into it due to time and money. Anyway, we'll be there, enjoy the holidays in the meantime, I know I'll be having fun with the head gaskets on my wife's Mustang on Christmas eve....

I'm happy to say I am the new owner of #88 that Marcello has been speaking of. You all may remember me from earlier this year looking to make the leap to ITB from autocross, and ONLY in a Mustang.

I'm new to road racing, a recent Skip Barber racing school graduate, and looking forward to participating in MARRS events at Summit Point with this recent 4-banger addition to my corral in Potomac Falls, Virginia!

    Sincerely,

    Don

    Manny,

We hope to be at the MARRS/SARRC event at VIR May 9-11. We have to decide between that or more seat time with FATT events at Summit.

    Sincerely,

    Don

The unit is a "bolt-in" arrangement, and we will be doing durability testing, as well as evaluation of the performance gains from it. We've got excellent baseline numbers from the old #88 and the years of racing at the SE tracks, so we'll be able to quickly narrow down the gains attributable to it. Also, the unit is designed so that it can be disconnected quickly, so we'll be able to do back-to-back tests with and without it, and if you know the Mustang suspension, you know how easy it will be to adjust spring rates as well for quick changes to optimize the setup. Oh, and also, the setup is designed to clear the factory exhaust.

Other than what I've said here and what's available on their website (www.EvolutionMsport.com), I can't really say much more at this point, but I'll be happy to comment on it more as we get some track time on it. The guys at Evolution Motorsport have their act together from what I've seen, so this should be a great setup.

Also, if you're able to wade through the tough crowd, you might want to check out a very thorough discussion of the linkage by following the link below.

    The URL below doesn't work?

    http://www.evolutionmsport.com/

Works for me. But let me know if you still can't get to it and I'll try to post another link to a pic of the watts link product.

    Sincerely,

    Don
