Mine usually runs a hair below 200, sometimes a hair above. His has always run hotter. And he had the heat on. We ran it in the heat last Sept - it was about 90 out, same thing. Don't know about the oil temp though! Oh, and he added a switch to the fan so he can turn it on, and he has been. Mine is still at the factory 226 degrees.

We are looking into acusumps, and have pulled a spare motor out of the garage to freshen.

All in all, we are pretty surprised his hasn't blown up yet. It was quite the abused car that I got for free and the motor had 135K on it then. We just put new bearings in it and that was about it.

Diane--That is some serious water temp. Like you said, it was damp and chilly.

You should have been running no hotter than 180 to 195 (water) in those conditions--maybe even less.

If the motor is still strong (check the oil dump tank), you probably have a cooling issue with the radiator (insufficient capacity or airflow). Also tell him to run the heater to help keep the temps down as well as the rad fan!

Left as is that puppy is going to pop if summer ever gets here.

Good luck!
