    Default 510 Radiator

I need ideas for a replacement radiator for my ITC 510 (1973). The stock one is in great shape, but I can't keep the engine temps down.

The head just checked out OK, there may have been head gasket sealing issues at CMP last weekend. Temps before replacing the head gasket were 220 to 240 after replacement more like 210 - 220. I could run the corners but had to just drive the straights to keep the temps below 220.

Is a fully functional stock brass radiator enought?

What AL radiator fit best as a replacement?

Ideas Please - Help - I am, slow enought if I can use full throttle, without it I am just in the way.

We had great results with a 2300 cc Ford using an aluminum VW radiator. There are a few sizes available, so look at the various models of VW for dimensions.

The additional benifit is the absolutly LOW cost from the part houses. As of two years ago, we were buying the radiator for $85-95. Can't be beat.

    Good luck.

I used to run a radiator from a Ford Escort, it fit right in and was plastic. I never ever had a water temp problem with it. I did not run a fan or thermostat and 1 bottle of "water wetter." Good luck. Griffin also custom makes any size or shapre you want in an aluminum radiator.

I have the same problem with temps. I heard the VW is a good solution, but does it give you enough room for an Oil cooler and fan??
I have a fan with the stock radiator, but there is no room left for an oil cooler.

We use C & R Racing radiators and have great luck with them.

I had a radiator shop put a 3 row core in my stock radiator, using the original top and bottom tanks. I never needed a fan or oil cooler.
