    Default S13 Suspension

I'm in the process of building a S13 240sx for ITS right now. I've seen a couple posts where people ask what suspension others are using for the 240, but not many people reply to those posts.

I was thinking about something a little better than Koni's strut insert for the front, but if everyone seems to be satisfied with it, I'll use it and save my money for other stuff.

So what suspension setup are most people using in the S13, or what is "the" setup?

    Thanks!
    Tim

Which insert are you talking about? Is it a street insert or the 8611 double adjustable racing insert? I'm not familiar enough with S13 offerings to know what's out there for it.

Sorry...should've been a bit more specific. Koni doesn't make just one insert

I was refering to Ground Control's setup with the Koni 8641 inserts in the front and 8040 shocks in the rear.

Would you definitely recommend the 8611's over the 8641's?

Also, Ground Control is making their own inserts now. Anyone have any advice on these?

    Tim,
Here is what I have, and what I plan to change.
Currently, Carrera non adjustables, front and rear. The fronts are inserts set in by OPM. The rears are the steel bodies. Performance wise, they are ok. I will be changing this year. Will probably do the Koni 8611 inserts along with a DA koni shock for the rear.
If you haven't been told yet, plan on the spherical bearing for all suspension mounting points. That is very critical with the rear of these cars.

Thank you for the info. Jim, can you recommend a place to pick up the Koni 8611 inserts along with a DA koni shock?

    Thanks again,
    Tim

Tim, Call Tom Fowler at OPM motorsports. They are just outside of Atlanta GA. He can set them up for you, Modify your existing struts to accept the Koni insert and do most anything you need. 770-886-8199

If you just want the shocks/strut inserts, and can modify the housing yourself, call Chris Wire at Racecar Engineering. (central Florida) 407.629-7400 ext 11.

    Tim,
Come over to the National thing at sEbring this weekend if you can. I'll be there and you can see my setup(not that it is spectacular).

Email me at [email protected] if you need any more info or you need to be on a crew list to get in
