    Default Oil Coolers

    What is everyone using for oil coolers on the E30 cars..what oil temps are you seeing, and finally, anyone have experience with Setrab oil coolers.

    chuck, obviously not an E30 driver here, but I have used two Setrabs on my TR8. Seem to be off good quality and did run noticabely cooler after install. Price was ok too; certainly at or near what you would pay for similar sizes for different brands in Summitt, etc.

    When I had my E30 I originally used the stock 325is cooler under the front bumper. I regularly saw 260 and 270 degree temps. These are high and I was concerned, but I never had any type of engine failure related to oil temp.

    I then installed a Griffin Ford NASCAR radiator with the integrated oil cooler/heat exchanger (on the right side). This dropped the temps down to around 240.

    With this car I did notice if I short shifted into 5th gear around 5800/6000 the oil temps would drop about 15 degrees.
