    Default E30 325i spring rates

What spring rates are people running on their E30 325's? I am running 500# in the front and 600# in the rear. Still getting quite a bit of roll.

I'm at 450 front and 650 rear. I have a 22mm sway bar upfront and the stock in the rear.(only reason I have the stock sway bar in the rear so I don't have to jack the car real high to get the rear wheel off of the ground) To decrease roll, welding tabs to the strut to alow the use of the M3 endlinks made a big difference. I started out with a 19mm sway bar on the rear, but it made it impossible to put power to the wheels when coming off of a corner.

Are you running a wing? I am running 25mm in front and 22mm in the rear.

700 front, 575 rear, no rear sway bar connected, m3 end links on front struts, advanced design dampers.

Wow Marshall, that is an interesting setup. What size sway bar is in the front?

    Thanks,

sorry, a little slow on the reply...

to tell you the truth, don't know the dimension off hand. it is an eibach adjustable that i run on the soft setting. i don't seem to get much roll and the car is very neutral. ride high is minimum up front and about 1 inch above min in the rear.

stiff front, softer rear springs and no rear sway bar seemed to be the standard setup for the fast e30's that raced in the marrs series. i looked at the other setups here on the list and thought they were all "interesting...". guess there is more than one way to skin this cat...

Marshall,I agree, the E30 setups described on this list were interesting. Your setup is very much like what I had on my E30, only your spring rates are a bit softer.

Here you go, 850 front/600 rear with LSD; 850 front/650 rear with a welded diff. RD sway bar in the front on softest setting mounted to the control arms, no rear bar.

Actually the settings are very close. Your getting more leverage with the front sway bar mounted to the struts, so the fronts would be closer than the spring rates suggest.
